Funerals at The Salmon Leap

We understand this can be a difficult time and we are here to help. At The Salmon Leap, we will make sure this is a stress free day for you and your family.

We are conveniently located in the heart of Calderwood while our venue offers a quiet calming atmosphere.

Terms & Conditions:

Age Policy:

  • We do not cater for 18th birthday parties under any circumstances.

  • We reserve the right to cancel any booking found to be for an 18th birthday celebration.

  • In such cases, all monies paid will be non-refundable and non-transferable.

 

Booking & Payment Terms:

  • A £50 non-refundable deposit is required to secure the room hire and event date. No booking is confirmed until this deposit has been received.

  • 50% of the remaining balance is due 28 days prior to the event date.

  • The final 50% balance is due 14 days prior to the event date.

  • Failure to make payments by the due dates may result in cancellation of the booking and loss of monies paid.

 

Cancellation Policy:

  • The initial £50 deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable.

  • In the event of cancellation within 14 days of the function date, all monies paid are non-refundable and non-transferable.

  • Cancellations must be made in writing.

External Catering/Buffet Policy:

  • Should you wish to provide your own buffet, a £50 external catering charge will apply.

  • This charge covers:

    • Provision of plates and napkins

    • Disposal of all buffet-related waste

  • The lead guest / booking contact must sign a Food Disclaimer Form prior to the event, confirming that:

    • All food has been sourced and prepared externally.

    • The Salmon Leap accepts no responsibility or liability for the quality, storage, preparation, or consumption of externally provided food.

    • All food brought onto the premises is done so at the organiser’s own risk.

 

Decorations Policy:

  • Decorations are permitted; however:

    • No confetti or table confetti is allowed.

    • No pins, nails, staples, tape, or wall fixings are permitted.

    • Decorations may only be attached using Blu Tack.

  • Any damage caused by decorations will be chargeable to the lead guest.

  • The organiser is responsible for removing all decorations at the end of the function unless agreed otherwise.

 

General Conditions:

  • The lead guest (person who made the booking) is responsible for the conduct of all attendees.

  • We reserve the right to refuse entry or service to any guest who is intoxicated, aggressive, or behaving inappropriately.

  • Any damages caused to the premises, fixtures, fittings, or equipment will be chargeable to the lead guest.

  • We reserve the right to end any function early if guests’ behaviour is deemed unsafe or inappropriate. In such cases, no refund will be issued.

 

By paying the initial non-refundable deposit, the lead guest confirms that they have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
